Balloon Blower
 

In this experiment, you will use vinegar and baking soda to create a chemical reaction that will inflate the balloon. This chemical reaction will release carbon dioxide which rises up the bottle into the balloon.
 

Supplies needed:

  • 1 cup vinegar
  • ¼ cup baking soda
  • Small bottle
  • Funnel
  • Balloon

Procedure:

  1. Pour vinegar in the bottle using a funnel.
  2. Pour the baking soda in the bottle using a funnel (make sure the funnel is dry).
  3. Very quickly remove the funnel and put the balloon on the top of the bottle.
  4. Watch what happens to the balloon!
