AQUARIST / EDUCATOR
The South Florida Science Museum is seeking a motivated Aquarist/Educator to join our team. This position is part of the Museum's Education Team and reports to the Director of Education.
Job responsibilities include but are not limited to: Cleans tanks and removes algae from tank windows. Collects and compares water samples to color-coded chart for acid analysis and monitors thermometers to ascertain water temperature. Adjusts thermostats and pumps when necessary and adds chemicals to water to maintain specified water conditions. Observes all animals to detect disease and injuries, reports condition to supervisor, and treats fish according to instructions. This position will also serve as a part-time educator working with school groups throughout all of South Florida. Candidates must have Bachelor's of Science in Marine Biology or another science related field and have 3 or more years experience in aquarium setting.
