WIN AN APPLE NANO AT THE SOUTH FLORIDA SCIENCE MUSEUM
(West Palm Beach, Fl) — So Santa didn't come through with that new Apple Nano like you asked? You have a second chance to make sure you get everything on your list -- no matter how naughty or nice you were in 2010!
To build momentum for its soon-to-be-opened It’s a Nano World exhibit, the South Florida Science Museum will be giving away one Apple Nano a week. Guests who visit the Museum in the month of January will be given an entry form, with their paid Museum admission, to be part of the drawing. Guests can visit the Museum as many times as they want and will receive a form with every paid Museum admission. Drawings will take place on Monday January 17, 24 and 31 for the previous week’s winner.
“Museum admission is half price during the month of January so it’s a great way for guests to see our permanent exhibits such as Bugz!, the twister, the aquariums and planetarium as well possibly take home a fun prize,” said Lew Crampton, president and CEO for the South Florida Science Museum. “When our It’s a Nano World exhibit opens I hope everyone comes back so they can see the ‘other world’ of small things that exist that we normally cannot see with the naked eye.”
The South Florida Science Museum’s It’s a Nano World exhibit opens on January 29th with a sneak peak during Nights at the Museum on January 28th. The exhibit will give guests a giants-eye view into the world that lies outside of our 20/20 vision. It's a Nano World is a brand-new, fascinating 3,000 square foot hands-on, interactive exhibition that introduces Museum visitors to the biological wonders of the infinitesimal nano world that's too small to see in our everyday life. The exhibit features videos, games and hands-on learning with very tiny tools to discover more about living things we can’t typically see. The exhibition was created through a partnership of the Nanobiotechnology Center at Cornell University and the Sciencenter and runs through May 15, 2011.
The South Florida Science Museum delivers entertaining and educational journeys through the many worlds of science and technology for curious minds of all ages. Located just off I-95 and Southern Blvd. in West Palm Beach, the Museum features more than 50 hands-on exhibits, a digital planetarium, freshwater and saltwater aquariums, as well as natural history exhibitions. New happenings at Museum include the Bugz! exhibit, an Amateur Radio Center open on weekends and holidays as well as aquarium feedings and shark pettings on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays at 1:30 p.m. Each year the museum welcomes more than 125,000 visitors and reaches more than 45,000 students through workshops at the museum and outreach programs to local schools. Established in 1961, the museum is a non-profit organization dedicated to exciting curiosity and furthering the understanding and appreciation of science and technology.
The South Florida Science Museum is located at 4801 Dreher Trail North in West Palm Beach. Museum admission, which includes the It’s a Nano World exhibition is: Adults $11.95; Seniors 62+ $10.50; and children ages three-12 $8.95, children under three years and Museum members are free.
